One Hundred Celebrations !!

Although our core business comes from our web shop we still get really excited when we get asked to do a bespoke bouquet for a special occasion.
Millie was asked to suggest something nice for a customers Great Grandmother's 100th birthday, her favourite flowers were yellow roses.
So Kerryanne made this fantastic compact bouquet of 100 yellow roses, the bouquet was really heavy to make but looked fantastic.
It was delivered on the morning of the birthday and presented by the staff there to the lady in question.
However she kindly asked for the bouquet to be separated and placed in little vases all round the nursing home so everyone could enjoy them.
Remember if you have a special occasion or design you would like us to do all you have to do is either give us a call or send an email and we will always do our very best to accommodate you.
Here's a picture of Kerryanne holding the bouquet before it was gift wrapped and delivered.

Flower Astrology ~ Libra (September 23 to October 22)

Libras are born during the harvest time under the element of Air and their symbol is the scales of justice and balance. They have a naturally kind and gentle disposition and are harmonious and pleasant individuals who make great diplomats. They tend to be romantic and thoughtful so flowers in soft shades of pink, white and blue are perfect for Libras. We’d particular recommend bouquets featuring sweetly scented freesias, such as our rose and freesia or purple freesia bouquets. Simultaneously sweet and sophisticated, freesias symbolise trust, friendship and innocence.

Autumn is here !

Autumn officially starts around the 15th of September, this seems to have been when the weather has actually improved this year!!
Before the 16th century, Harvest was the term used for this season. However when people gradually moved from working the land to living in towns the word harvest lost its reference and was replaced by Fall and Autumn.
Fall is generally used in America where people decorate their doors and gardens with harvest fruits and autumn leaves in preparation for Thanksgiving and Halloween which is a huge event in the US.
Our Autumn range uses all the shades of the changing scenery, burnt oranges, warm browns, berries and golden sunsets.
Personally I think there is nothing better than a nice sunny walk through crispy autumn leaves whilst you are nicely wrapped up.
Here is my favourite bouquet from our Autumn Range it's sweet scented brown freesia and delicate peach roses with winter crocosmia berries - fabulous !!

Flower Astrology ~ Virgo (August 23 to September 22)

As part of a new monthly blog feature I thought I'd look into the fascinating world of floral astrology, to help you chose the perfect bouquet for birthdays or other special occasions, with a little inspiration from the stars. The first sign the sun falls under as the summer stretches into early autumn is Virgo.

Floristselect51Those with birthdays under the Earth sign of Virgo tend to be practical and meticulous people, often perfectionists. Their diligence and attention to detail means they are good at organizing and planning and they like their environment to be clean and ordered. They are usually modest, reserved individuals and can come across as serious and aloof, but, as those closest to them will know, beneath this lies a more light-hearted, witty side, as well as a great deal of insight and wisdom. The sign of Virgo is associated with purity and service and with the colour blue. Asters and daisies are the talisman flowers for Virgo. Charming and delicate, they symbolise love, patience and daintiness and they appear in many of our bouquets. The peaceful tones of blue flowers also make a perfect gift for Virgos, as found in our seasonally selected blue flower collection (pictured).

Kerryanne our Operations Manager is a Virgo and easily falls into this description, her favourite colour is Torquoise but unfortunately there are no Torquoise flowers - yet!
