The Clare Florist 32nd Birthday Celebrations Continue...

 

In celebration of Clare Florist’s 32nd anniversary of serving the public with the highest quality fresh cut flower bouquets,  we are pleased to announce that we  will be handing out specially designed New Year bouquets to Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres Charity,   in conjunction with FedEx UK,  who will deliver the bouquets free of charge. 

 

 

 

Clare Florist will be gifting 32 'Maggie’s' bespoke hand-tied bouquets to the Maggie's Cancer Caring Charity. The Charity will then decide who will recieve one of the 32 bouquets from the deserving people who have helped  them in a variety of ways to make each of their centres the success they are today. 

Our expert florist Kerry has also designed a special 'Maggie's Bouquet' - which is to go on sale with 10% of it's price going to the Maggie's Charity.

 

Maggie’s runs a number of Cancer Caring Centres around the country, designed as a place for people to turn for help with any of the problems, small or large, associated with cancer.  Under one roof, people can access help with information, benefits advice, psychological support both individually and in groups, courses, and stress reducing strategies. Visitors do not need to have an appointment or be referred, and everything is offered free of charge. 

We wanted to do something really special and positive to celebrate yet another year under our floral belts by making 32 years in total.  What better way, than to donate a uniquely designed bouquets of flowers to chosen recipients of Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres and at the same time highlight all the excellent work that Maggie's carry out every day! 

  

The 32 bespoke fresh flower bouquets all safely packed up and ready to be delivered by the good people at FedEx UK to 32 lucky recipients selected by Maggie's.

Address to a Haggis

Fair fa' your honest, sonsie face,
Great chieftain o the puddin'-race!
Aboon them a' ye tak your place,
Painch, tripe, or thairm:
Weel are ye wordy of a grace
As lang's my arm.

The groaning trencher there ye fill,
Your hurdies like a distant hill,
Your pin wad help to mend a mill
In time o need,
While thro your pores the dews distil
Like amber bead.

His knife see rustic Labour dight,
An cut you up wi ready slight,
Trenching your gushing entrails bright,
Like onie ditch;
And then, O what a glorious sight,
Warm-reekin, rich!

Then, horn for horn, they stretch an strive:
Deil tak the hindmost, on they drive,
Till a' their weel-swall'd kytes belyve
Are bent like drums;
The auld Guidman, maist like to rive,
'Bethankit' hums.

Is there that owre his French ragout,
Or olio that wad staw a sow,
Or fricassee wad mak her spew
Wi perfect sconner,
Looks down wi sneering, scornfu view
On sic a dinner?

Poor devil! see him owre his trash,
As feckless as a wither'd rash,
His spindle shank a guid whip-lash,
His nieve a nit:
Thro bloody flood or field to dash,
O how unfit!

But mark the Rustic, haggis-fed,
The trembling earth resounds his tread,
Clap in his walie nieve a blade,
He'll make it whissle;
An legs an arms, an heads will sned,
Like taps o thrissle.

Ye Pow'rs, wha mak mankind your care,
And dish them out their bill o fare,
Auld Scotland wants nae skinking ware
That jaups in luggies:
But, if ye wish her gratefu prayer,
Gie her a Haggis!

Very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Well,   what a busy time we have had here at Clare Florist HQ!  The run up to Christmas has been wonderfully manic,  with so many orders to process,  make up and deliver to all the lucky recipients.  We hope everyone enjoys them as much as we enjoyed making them for you.  So it is now time to put our feet up,  have a wee dram and wait for Santa and his sleigh to arrive. 

Then a relaxing couple of days with friends and family - getting into the festive spirit!  Then it's the New Year,  2011 - who'd have thought it could come round so quickly.  It is going to be an exciting one, with lots of fabulous new bouquets and arrangements on offer.
